The weekly Edge Pledge update is here. Welcome to Edge Pledge TV episode 30 where we take you deep into the world of a wildlife-fundraising platform and we unpack all we are doing as we try to end extinction with you and have some laughs along the way.

  1. Schools are signing up to 50/50 We are contacting as many schools as we possibly can to find out who is interested in taking part in our pilot 50/50 program in March 2018.

Landcare Australia have a list of schools who are into the environment so we are hitting them up and calling each of these schools.

We also have a piece coming out in the Junior Landcare newsletter

  1. How 50/50 works The way it will work is that kids, teachers and parents do a challenge, and 50% of funds go to the school and 50% to local wildlife projects. We have a kids challenge generator so we can find age appropriate challenges for the students easily and we are supplying a years worth of environment-focused curriculum to schools that sign up.

What schools need to do to sign up - Basically they just need to get comfortable with how this will work, think about how they can integrate it into their programs. Then we sign a fundraising agreement that our environment partners have all signed, setup a payment gateway so all funds go straight to them, load up their school on our system and it's all ready to go.

  1. Our ambassador for 50/50 I wanted to announce that we have ambassdor for 50/50 Edge Pledge. It is Wildlife Warrior and long time friend of Edge Pledge, Isaac Busuttil. https://www.instagram.com/isaacwildlif…/

Isaac was one of the first people to get in touch when we launched, and we have been working together since to devise ways to get more attention for wildlife. We really believe that Isaac will be the face of wildlife conservation in Australia over the next few years and we feel honoured to have him as our ambassador.

  1. Not just for schools We wanted to emphasise that the 50/50 program isn't just for schools. It is for any community group out there that loves the environment.

We have reached out to Scouts Australia for example, as we believe this is a great alignement to their values and helps individual groups raise funds.

We have also reached out to Nature Play QLD and Kids Teaching Kids.

Please let us know oof any other group that gets kids out in the environment who would like to use this to raise funds for themselves as well

  1. The head of a Zoo in Australia taking on a challenge We have been in discussions with one of the Zoos in Australia who love Edge Pledge and we are working to get the CEO to take on a challenge.

We want to use this to get their fololowers to support their proejcts, but also as a call to action for all Zoos in Australia to jump on board. e.g. Australia Zoo, Perth Zoo, Adelaide Zoo. If you know anyone working in Zoos, or any environment NFP, please let them know we'd love to work with them.
