Edge Pledge TV episode 24

The weekly Edge Pledge update is here. Welcome to Edge Pledge TV episode 24 where we take you deep into the plains grassy woodlany of a wildlife-fundraising platform and we unpack all we are doing as we try to end extinction with you and have some laughs along the way. This episode Sam Marwood talks about:

  1. Schools fundraising 50/50 We are moving ahead with the 50/50. Our website is being updated in the backend to allow this to happen, we are developing collateral to explain how it works and we are starting to hit up schools

Our aim is to trial with around 20 schools before/after Christmas to ensure that it works smoothly before we go big with this. So if you are a school or community group that loves the concepts of Edge Pledge, please get in touch.

We are in the process of accessing a grant to employ someone to help us launch the 50/50. We have a young gun who is pumped to help us and we are going to get them focused on signing up schools and activating them.

  1. Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary in Canberra
Sam had the pleasure of visiting Mulligan’s Flat which is a predator proof nature reserve on the edge of Canberra city. An amazing place where people can walk around and hang out with endangered wildlife such as the Bettong. The Mulligan’s Flat team showed me around the enclosure and described how the operation works. They get a number of their animals like the Quoll from one of our current environment partners, Mt Rothwell Conservation Centre. It was great to see some great work first hand and we are eager to support Mulligan’s take their management to the next level. Go visit if you are in Canberra.

  2. Providing a suite of actions to support env organisations
We are still very excited about this concept of providing a suite of actions to support our environment partners and to activate their followers. All environment organisations have a lot of followers and supporters, and we feel they are being under utilised. So we are building a list of actions and of businesses that can support those actions so we can bring a package of tools to make every environment organisation stronger. One idea we have added is an online shop that can be white labelled to any environment organisation and they can sell environment-theme products to anyone and make money off this and provide a great service to followers. We are digging this up now and will keep you posted.
