Edge Pledge TV Episode 14

Welcome to episode 14 of Edge Pledge TV. This is where we take you deep into the jungle of a wildlife-fundraising platform and we unpack all we are doing as we try to end extinction with you and have some laughs along the way. This episode Sam Marwood talks about:
1. 24 pledges have been loaded.
2. We had a $1000 donation
3. New challenges loaded

  1. We have 24 pledges loaded and raised $3,100. This is great. Already 1/4 of our last years total of pledges and 1/10 of the funds. But we know there are plenty more of you out there who love wildlife and are maybe sitting on the fence. We would love you to take on a challenge. It’s not about doing anything stupid or looking like a fool, it’s about having a bit of fun and demonstrating the Australia that there is a simple way to help out wildlife on the edge.

  2. How to promote your pledge: We have a number of people who have loaded their pledge but haven’t raised any funds. So here are some tips: 1) Send an email to your friends but Bcc everyone, 2) Post on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, 3) Tell your work mates, 4) Send text messages to your friends who you know will love this and specifically ask them to donate.

  3. Facebook Live event: Coming together. It is the morning of Friday 25 August at Melbourne Zoo. We will be inviting media but mainly we want you to tune in via Facebook to watch. It will only take 10 minutes. We are confirming out MC who will interview myself, CEOs, wildlife experts and also some wildlife. The aim is to show Australia that the best environment organisations in Australia are serious about ending extinction and want to activate all Australian’s to take on a challenge.

  4. My challenge is loaded: Learn to ride a unicycle, record an album of songs, or create a home version of play-school. Would love you to vote and help decide which one I do. (pick the album of songs!!)

  5. Plans for the coming week: We are continuing to focus on you our supporters and a handful of our environment partner supporters. We want to build the momentum internally, so that when we do the event we have a lot of pledges loaded and the broader public know how this works. So please do jump on and create a pledge. Our environment partners are also trying to get their corporate partners on board to take on challenges. So please let us know if you know of any corporates that might be up for this.

  6. Send a pledge to a friend. Did you know you can create a pledge for your friend. Pick them 3 challenges and post on their Facebook Page or send via email. Click here - https://www.edgepledge.com/challenge-ge…

  7. Loaded new challenges: We did a dump of new challenges on the generator to keep things fresh:
    a) Wear cat eye contact lenses
    b) Don’t wear shoes to work
    c) Barrack for Collingwood for a year
    d) Eat a whole watermelon
    e) Wash 3 cats
    f) Fast for a week
    g) Rename your pet
    h) Cold call 100 people for charity

  8. $1000 donation. We had someone’s mum donate $1000. They had to check that it wasn’t a typo, but it wasn’t. What a champion. She is obviously proud of her daughter. Love this stuff. Going to be hard for that challenge not to win now! Unless we have another generous donor…

  9. Three new wildlife added:
    a) Eastern Bettong with Greening Australia - https://www.edgepledge.com/…/eastern-be…
    b) Clown fish with Greening Australia - https://www.edgepledge.com/…/orange-clo…
